I made several with tea-dyed dresses from a calico with big green shamrocks. I painted the stripes on her legs orange, green and white and laced the shoes with several strands of black embroidery floss, wrapped the ends of the floss around her ankles and turned her into an Irish stepdancer for St. Patrick's Day.
One of the unique features about this doll is that she has traditional yarn hair that is adorned with little girls' barrettes, ribbons and pony tail holders. For this doll, I used some of the barrettes and ties that I still had hanging around from when my girls were little. Three sizes of hearts are included with the pattern to use as bowl fillers or to make a simple yet elegant primitive candle lamp basket as shown in the photo.
